High light transmission
Light is an essential production factor in horticulture. One percent more light equals one percent more growth, according to an often-quoted gardener's rule.
Good transparency, especially in bad weather
Particularly in dull weather, it is important to get light inside the greenhouse. Glazing therefore has to have perfectly smooth surfaces to which dirt cannot adhere and from which condensation flows off as a continuous film.
Weather resistance for many years
What use is high light transmission if the glazing grows dull in the course of time? Greenhouse glazing must remain transparent for many years, indeed decades. Suitable products must therefore meet these requirements.
The entire spectrum of sunlight
Natural light contains the whole radiation spectrum, including ultraviolet light in the wavelength range from 300 to 380 nm. This promotes vigorous, compact plant growth and gives flowers their vibrant colors. Lighting conditions like outdoors in Mother Nature.
Optimum Heat Insulation
Heating costs money and is harmful to the environment. A reduced need for heating is therefore doubly beneficial. The prerequisite, though, is suitable glazing: double glazing with U-values below 3 W/m²K should be the norm.
