Can one eat or drink out of items made from PLEXIGLAS^®?

PLEXIGLAS^® standard molding compound can be used without reservation for manufacturing items entering into contact with foodstuffs. They comply with the requirements of FDA Regulation CFR 21 § 177.1010 (01.04.2001), European Directive 90/128/EEC incl. 2001/62/EC (09.08.2001) and German Recommendation XXII of BgVV (09.01.2001) (formerly BGA, German Health Agency), as well as the requirements of LMBG Lebensmittel- und Bedarfsgegenständegesetz (German law on foodstuffs and commodities) (20.07.2000).
