Does PLEXIGLAS® produce toxic vapors during combustion?
PLEXIGLAS® molding compound and moldings are combustible, like all organic substances. The ignition temperature is approx. 425 °C. Acc. to DIN 4102, PLEXIGLAS® burns with a luminous, non-sooty flame and produces (non-burning) droplets. Combustion gives rise to water and carbon dioxide, as well as carbon monoxide in the event of a lack of oxygen. Beyond these, no toxic gases are produced.
